Jason McCain began his restaurant career in 1988 with the Pappas restaurants. He worked his way through the ranks of server, bartender, manager and wine steward. After 20 years in the service business, with five different organizations, Jason decided to actively pursue a career in the wine industry and is currently a level 2 Sommelier and quickly aspiring to higher ranks in the business. His current position as Assistant General Manager and Wine Sales Manager of The Tasting Room at Uptown Park and River Oaks allows him to work closely with all levels of wine enthusiasts. Hosting weekly wine tastings and daily educational classes allows Jason to stay focused on current trends, classic wine knowledge, and vinicultural practices while staying in touch with the daily requests of the restaurant.
