Grilled Fruit Kabobs with Butterscotch Sauce



Star Fruit



Kiwi fruit



Lime juice

Grated orange zest

Pre-soaked bamboo skewers


You can use any combination of the above fruit. Cut the star fruit, strawberries, bananas, kiwi fruit, pineapple and apples into pieces of equal size. Slide onto the bamboo skewers and sprinkle with lime juice.


Prepare a medium-hot fire in the grill and place the skewers on the grill. Grill for about two minutes, turn and grill for another two minutes. Sprinkle with the orange zest and serve with the Butterscotch Sauce.



Butterscotch Sauce 

1 cup packed brown sugar

cup corn syrup

6 tablespoons butter

cup heavy whipping cream

teaspoon vanilla extract


Combine the brown sugar, corn syrup and butter in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and simmer for one minute. Remove from the heat, stir in the cream and vanilla. Serve the sauce warm or cold.
